2007 Special Olympic World Games, hosted by Shanghai is drawing near and students are showing great enthusiasm in volunteering for Special Olympics. Compared to 2006 Special Olympic Invited Games, much more volunteers are needed in the event this year. Volunteer opportunities to all students are provided in many universities in Shanghai including our university.

　　Volunteer recruitment in our university was held on March 5^th in the hall of the library. On that day, the library was crowded with eager students. Some students were around the inquiring desk, seeking more information, some were busy filling in the forms and some were signing their names on the streamer. Li, a student who served 2006 Special Olympic Invited Games, said: “Special Olympics is an event of great significance. This shows that nowadays more and more people begin to show their concern for the weak and special groups in our society.”  Fang, another student, said: “Students of our university should learn to take up responsibility for the society. To be a volunteer is my first step.”

　　With so many warm-hearted volunteers, we firmly believe that 2007 Special Olympic Games will be a very successful one.
