The detailed regulations of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine on ¡°Class B Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) For International Students¡±
The ¡°Class B Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) for International Students¡± in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is to provide the pecuniary aid for outstanding international students for bachelor¡¯s degree, Master¡¯s degree, or Doctor¡¯s degree.
1. The applicant¡¯s qualifications
1.1 The applicant should be healthy and with a foreign nationality.
1.2 The applicant should have outstanding academic achievements.
1.3 The applicant should apply for a bachelor¡¯s degree, a Master¡¯s degree or a Doctors¡¯ degree.
1.4 The applicant for a bachelor¡¯s degree should be a holder of high school graduation certificate under the age of 30; the applicant for a Master¡¯s degree should be a holder of a bachelor¡¯s degree under the age of 35; and the applicant for a Doctor¡¯s degree should be a holder of a Master¡¯s degree under the age of 40.
1.5 The applicant should have no other Chinese government scholarships or any types of scholarships from other universities or colleges at the same time.
2. The coverage of the scholarship: Tuition fee, registration fee, and textbooks for compulsory courses.
3. The application materials
3.1 The ¡°Class B Scholarship Application Form¡± should be filled in both Chinese and English.
3.2 The notarized certification of the most advanced educational level.
3.3 If the applicant is a student, he/she should provide the student certification of the school he/she is currently studying in. If the applicant is an employee, he/she should provide the employment certification of the unit that he/she is working in.
3.4 The school academic record should be offered.
3.5 To study for a bachelor¡¯s degree, one letter of recommendation should be provided from the school the applicant graduated. To study for a Master¡¯s degree or a Doctor¡¯s degree, two letters of recommendation should be provided from professors or associate professors of the school where applicants graduate.
3.6 All materials should be written in Chinese or English. Non-Chinese or Non-English ones should be attached with the notarized version in Chinese or English.
3.7 The applicant should commit to the authenticity of the materials; otherwise the scholarship will be withdrawn, and the applicant should be responsible for all consequences.
3.8 Whether the application for SGS is approved or not, all the materials will not be returned.
4. The time of application:
4.1 Every July 15 is the deadline for a bachelor¡¯s degree.
4.2 Every September 1 to September 30 is for a Master¡¯s degree or a Doctor¡¯s degree.
5. The approval of scholarship
5.1 The University will appoint a scholarship committee to assess the materials of the applicants.
5.2 The scholarship approval committee will do overall assessment and evaluation on applicants through interview, telephone or email.
5.3 The University will inform the applicants of the assessment result in written form as soon as possible.
6. The annual assessment of scholarship
6.1 According to the ¡°Pilot Methods of Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) for International Students¡±, those who had obtained scholarship for more than one academic year should receive annual scholarship assessment in terms of academic records, learning attitude, class attendance record, behavior, and rewards or punishments. Those who passed the assessment can continue to get the scholarship for the next year. Those who failed in the assessment will be suspended or withdrawn the qualification of scholarship for the next year.
6.2 Those for bachelor¡¯s degrees can continue to get the scholarship only when they are listed as top ten of the grade in terms of the total academic records for the previous academic year, and no less than 2.5 for any single course.
6.3 For Master¡¯s degree or Doctor¡¯s degree, the first-year students with scholarship will mainly be evaluated by their application materials and admission examination results. The second-year students with scholarship will mainly be evaluated by their academic records and behaviors in the school. And the third-year students with scholarship will mainly be evaluated by their mid-term examination results and behaviors in the school.
6.4 The scholarship will be withdrawn immediately in the case of the following conditions:
